New Erima Primary School is located in the outskirts of Port Moresby, North East. The primary school is situated adjacent to the old Environment and Conservation Park, previously named wildlife Sanctuary along the Hiritano Highway towards Bomana.

Generally, the whole infrastructure of the school is built with permanent materials. These building are architected to modern design. Each grade has five (5) streams starting from elementary one to eighth grade. The school is well secured with high perimeter fence that covers the entire school boundary.

On the other hand students enjoyed their learning very much in peace, loving and acceptable environment. The environment is well secured, quite, conducive and viable, spacious playing area and spectacular garden which beautify the area and gives the additional attraction. The school takes pride and is privileged and is surely blessed abundantly; therefore learning at the school is no doubt meaningful interesting and spontaneous.

The official colour of the school is green, white and maroon. “Keep Trying” is the official school motto. Everyone particularly teachers, students and stakeholders are quite passionate about this unique logo. The school logo subsequently bears two national animals, a cuscus and a crocodile. The cuscus on the logo symbolizes caution and cleanliness. Therefore in a similar fashion, the students attending this school should uphold health and hygiene at all time.

The other animal emblem on the school logo is a crocodile. The crocodile symbolizes a hard worker, who does not bother being dirty, however struggles hard to survive each day, no matter how difficult it is each day. Similarly, students in the school are to follow the same rules and work extra hard in his or her studies, regardless of whatever activity it maybe.
The logo in fact is very fitting, has a depth meaning for students to see and imitate while at school. These animals portray a vivid picture of how students should behave and practice while in school.

New Erima Primary School is a decent school that surely, deserves respect from women, men, children and everyone.

Ples Singsing is envisioned to be a new platform for Papua Niuginian expressions of creativity, ingenuity and originality in art and culture. We deliberately highlight these two very broad themes as they can encompass the diverse subjects, from technology, medicine and architecture to linguistics, music, fishing, gardening et cetera. Papua Niuginian ways of thinking, living, believing, communicating, dying and so on can cover the gamut of academic, journalistic or opinionated writing and we believe that unless we give ourselves a platform to talk about and discuss these things in an open, free and non-exclusively academic space that they may remain the fodder for academics, journalists and other types of writers alone. New social media platforms have given every individual a personal space to share their feelings and ideas openly, sometimes without immediate censure. The Ples Singsing writer’s blog would like to provide another more structured platform for Papua Niuginian expressions in written, visual and audio formats while also providing some regulation of the type and content of materials to be shared publicly.
